Before calling for furnace repair, try these self-help tips to getting your system working before calling for furnace service.

Change your air filter.  Just like in summer, your filters need to be changed on a regular basis.  If they become clogged, this could prevent your system from blowing warm air.  Turn your system off, check your filter and if dirty, change your filter.  Turn you system back on and see if the problem is resolved.

Check your thermostat.  It could be as simple as changing the setting to "heat".  Check your settings and the temperature you want your home to be.  Make any necessary adjustments and wait a few minutes to see if the problem is resolved.

Change your batteries.  Sometimes weak batteries in your thermostat can cause your system to not heat or cool properly.  If your thermostat does have batteries, turn your thermostat to the off position, replace the batteries and turn your thermostat back on. Wait a few minutes and see if this resolves the problem.
